The Society of Neuroscience has announced that Nick Bellono is one of two recipients of the 2024 Young Investigator Award. Bellono, Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University, studies the molecular mechanisms underlying sensory transduction in specialized cells of diverse organisms. This has led to an exploration of the evolution of the structure of sensory receptors for touch and chemosensation—and their combination.
