Abstract:
Dopamine plays an important role in various normal behaviors and psychiatric conditions. How does dopamine exert various functions? Does this due to intrinsic diversity of dopamine neurons or merely because of the functional difference of downstream targets, in spite of common function of dopamine
itself?

How are dopamine neurons regulated to exert these functions? In this talk, I will present series of our studies, aiming to position dopamine’s function in global neural circuits. I will introduce our systematic anatomy and electrophysiology experiments and would like to discuss limitations and
challenges in neuroscience studies.
